Scott hardy playing football

I enjoy keeping fit and go to the gym regularly. I also enjoy training for and playing semi-professional football on a weekly basis. I am interested in strength and conditioning for athletic performance, especially with regard to football and I am particularly interested in developing both speed and power. Before I completed my course with HFE, I also completed a sports science degree in 2005.

What is your background with exercise?

I enjoy keeping fit and go to the gym regularly. I also enjoy training for and playing semi-professional football on a weekly basis. I am interested in strength and conditioning for athletic performance, especially with regard to football and I am particularly interested in developing both speed and power. Before I completed my course with HFE, I also completed a sports science degree in 2005.

I particularly enjoyed the interactive nature of these resources and how they allowed you to go through material in your own time and at your own pace.

Why did you choose HFE to deliver your training?

HFE have a great reputation in the health and fitness industry. The courses they deliver are adaptable so I could fit this in around my current work and home life.

What did you enjoy most about your HFE course?

The online resources we’re excellent and really made the home-study period of the training easy. I particularly enjoyed the interactive nature of these resources and how they allowed you to go through material in your own time and at your own pace.

What is your current role?

I work currently work in sport development for link4life and coordinate sport and exercise programmes for 11-25 year olds. The focus of my job is increasing participation in sport and exercise for a variety of groups, including:

• Females
• disadvantaged communities
• People not in employment, education of training (NEET)
• people who are currently not participating in any activity.

I also work at Hopwood Hall College as an academy football coach working with 16-19 year olds who play in the English Colleges Football League.

What are your future plans?

I would like to become a qualified and skilled personal trainer and strength and conditioning coach to assist me in my current roles. This would also give me the opportunity to work some hours on a self- employed basis.

Course(s) completed: Level 2 Gym Instructor
