HFE is one of the UK’s leading providers of Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer and Activity Leadership apprenticeships. Whether you are looking to teach exercise and fitness on a one-to-one basis, or in a group exercise setting, our apprenticeship programmes are packed with all of the essential knowledge and skills you need to progress along this exciting and rewarding career path.
Apprenticeships are essentially jobs that are accompanied with a skills development programme. These skills are jointly delivered by an employer and a training provider to ensure that they meet the individual needs of the student, and the business needs of the employer. This is why apprenticeships are so successful!
Benefits of Apprenticeships
There are a number of key benefits associated with being an apprentice, including:
- Earn a wage while learning
- Receive structured on the job training
- Achieve nationally recognised qualifications
- Extensive support from your employer and training provider
- Gain invaluable work experience
- Develop transferable skills that will serve you in your job and beyond
How Long Does it Take?
An apprenticeship can take between 1 and 3 years to complete depending on the specific pathway and the level at which it is delivered. Apprenticeships have to be delivered for a minimum period of time, and these are summarised below:
• Intermediate – Level 2 programme – 12 months
• Advanced – Level 3 programme – 18 months
It is also possible to progress from an intermediate to an advanced level. In these circumstances, the apprenticeship would take around 30 months (2.5 years) to complete.
A Real Future
On completion of an apprenticeship, around 85% of apprentices will remain in employment, with around 64% staying with the same employer.
Approximately 32% of apprentices receive a promotion within 12 months of completing an apprenticeship, and of these graduates, 75% reported that they were given greater workplace responsibilities.
According to a recent employer survey, apprentices are considered to be 15% more employable than their colleagues who have other qualifications.
