Discover how to make exercise inclusive for PPN clients
Enquire todayDevelop your knowledge about pregnancy and use this to effectively adapt exercise for pre and postnatal clients.
Traditionally, when a woman became pregnant the advice given was that they should take things easy and put their feet up. While sufficient rest is clearly important to both mother and baby, and prolonged standing or over-exertion should be avoided, pregnant women are increasingly being encouraged to remain as active as possible, for as long as possible.
There are always important factors and considerations that must be addressed, but exercise can have a range of benefits including preventing excessive weight gain, reducing nausea and fatigue, improving posture and increasing foetal growth.
Exercise programmes should be as inclusive as possible and that’s precisely why this qualification exists. It’s our job to empower exercise professionals and remove any fear or hesitation of working with pregnant clients. This can only be done with the right skills and the appropriate level of knowledge.
