Step aerobics/step exercise to music is an exciting variation of general aerobic exercise and it continues to be one of the more popular forms of studio-based exercise. Our Level 2 Step Exercise to Music course is an essential addition to any exercise professionals’ repertoire, particularly group exercise instructors. Similarly, if you’ve been informally teaching step classes for years and need to gain the appropriate qualifications to do so, this fully-accredited qualification is the ideal fit.
The qualification is certificated by YMCA Awards (formerly CYQ) and we deliver it via a blend of home study and practical workshop attendance. To ensure you succeed, we provide you with a range of learning materials, including training manuals, comprehensive e-learning materials, and extensive support from our experienced tutors.
On the course itself, you’ll learn a wide-range of choreography that are pitched at varying levels of difficulty, engaging methods of planning and teaching step classes, and important anatomy and physiology considerations.

In order to enrol on this course, you’ll need to possess a Level 2 Fitness Instruction qualification, and this can either be as a gym, or exercise to music instructor. In addition to the academic requirements, it’s recommended that you have a keen interest in group exercise and be able to perform and follow basic choreography.
