Training Course Transfer Policy

We recognise that the needs and commitments of our customers have to potential to change after they enrol on their chosen training programme and as such we will need to be flexible in the way we continue to offer our services. This policy therefore exists to provide our customers and potential customers with clear guidance on how and when course transfers and deferrals of attendance will be accepted, including any additional fees that may be applied.

This policy provides an overview of the terms related to course transfers. For a more detailed account of our position on transfers, please refer to Clause 10 of our Terms of Business.

HFE is committed to ensuring that all advertised courses run as scheduled and that we are able to continue to provide the high-standard of training that has become synonymous with the HFE brand. At the heart of our mission statement is ‘affordability’, and we are dedicated to ensuring that we can continue to keep our course prices competitive. In order to achieve this objective however, it is essential that we can plan in advance, and ensure that all reserved places for students on our courses are used as originally planned.

Why we Charge for Transfers?

In the event that a student defers their course attendance from one course instance to another, they effectively consume 2 course spaces instead of the one space that they have booked and paid for. In cases where the notice period supplied is less than 6-weeks, the likelihood that we will be able re-use that place is incredibly low given the volume of home-study learning required from students before they attend their course. Therefore, the transfer fees set out below are in place to provide a contribution from students towards these costs and losses. They in no way represent the full extent of our losses in respect of course transfers but they are considered sufficient enough to secure a commitment from students to the course that they are transferring on to.

It should also be noted that the more times a student transfers their course, the greater the losses we incur. Therefore, after 2 course transfers, we reserve the right to refuse any further transfers, as stipulated in our Terms of Business.

This transfer policy does not affect your statutory rights.

Making a Transfer

If you wish to transfer your course attendance from one course instance to another, you must do so using the application form at the bottom of this page. Verbal applications to transfer will not be accepted.

Unfortunately theory and practical exam bookings are non-refundanble and non-transferable.
