The Graham Sports Centre provides the ideal base for HFE’s fitness courses in County Durham. Located in the heart of the Durham University campus, the venue is easily accessible from the A1 and parking is provided on-site. Getting to the venue via public transport is also an option. Durham railway station is approximately 30 minutes walk away and there is a bus stop right outside the venue.
For those staying over during their course weekends, there’s a range of places to stay depending on your taste and budget. These include budget hotels, B&Bs and boutique accommodation.
The venue itself features a fully air-conditioned fitness suite, which is enhanced by a range of Technogym resistance machines, free weights, cardiovascular machines, TRX suspension training, foam rollers and exercise balls. There’s also a chilled water dispenser and multiple large screen TVs. When students aren’t participating in practical training, they are free to use the gym facilities as much as they want.
For refreshments and food, the Maiden Castle Cafe, part of the main campus, is open seven days a week. You’re also more than welcome to bring your own food and drink if that is more convenient.read moreread less
