Intro

The ability to work effectively with special populations, such as ante and postnatal clients, is often cited by exercise professionals as a noticeable gap in their skill set. Exercise programmes need to be as inclusive as possible, regardless of one’s physical circumstances, and this is why our Level 3 Pre and Postnatal Exercise Instructor course exists. Women should not be excluded from partaking in exercise because they’re pregnant, or because they have recently given birth. This qualification therefore aims to empower you with the necessary skills and knowledge to safely work with both pre and postnatal clients.

Traditionally, pregnant women have been advised to rest, take things easy and put their feet up. While prolonged standing activities and over-exertion should be avoided, and rest is clearly important to both mother and baby, pregnant women are however increasingly encouraged to remain as active as possible for as long as possible. In cases where women were engaged in regular exercise before they fell pregnant, they are also encouraged to continue exercising throughout their term. There are however a number of important factors and considerations that must be assessed, which is why this qualification exists.

This course is delivered primarily through home-study, although you will be required to attend one of our regional training venues to complete the theory assessment. Throughout the home-study period, you’ll be fully supported by our team of dedicated Learner Support Tutors – you won’t be on your own! Visit the following page to find out more about our support services.

In order to provide you with a better flavour of the course and its content, we’ve created a free mock test, which allows you to test your knowledge on the subjects detailed below. All of our learning and teaching materials are produced specifically for our courses , and this includes our detailed and full colour student manuals. An online sample of which can be viewed here.

I have just completed the L3 Pilates course, and from the easy enrollment process to the end I have been encouraged and fully supported. The manuals for the course are brilliant, and I found the online system easy to use. The online resources are also very good and informative. The weekends have been fantastic with all of the tutors showing great knowledge, skill and professionalism.

I have studied with HFE over the last year or so and have completed the ETM and currently finishing my pilates level 3. I have found the courses well delivered and received plenty of support from the tutor who is on the end of the phone as much as you want them to be.

Overall my course has been superb. I’ve had a fabulous experience from booking onto it, to 1on1’s with my tutor to the course weekends themselves. Lindey’s was an excellent tutor and helped me out so much during my course. She was brilliant at fitting me into her busy schedule and I felt great coming away from every phone call with her. I’m so happy with the results from my course and would recommend it to anyone thinking of applying. Completing this course has giving me the confidence to do my dream career! Thank you so much to everyone at HFE!
