It is especially well-suited for fitness instructors, personal trainers, and other wellness professionals seeking to expand their practice and transition into a more holistic, client-focused coaching role.
You must be 18 and over to enrol on this course.
Students will need to hold a valid level 3 fitness instructor (Pilates instructor, yoga teacher, exercise referral) or personal training qualification to enrol. This is a requirement of the CIMSPA endorsement.
This course is endorsed by CIMSPA, YMCA Awards, National Centre for Behaviour Change (NCBC), and the Personalised Care Institute (PCI).
The contents of the course are mapped to CIMSPAs Level 4 long-term conditions professional standard, and PCIs Level 1 curriculum.
On successful completion of this course, you'll receive 10 CIMSPA CPD points.
This Health and Wellbeing Coach training course is designed to equip you with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to become a confident and effective coach.
Throughout the course, you’ll explore the core principles of client-centred coaching, learn powerful communication techniques, and develop evidence-based strategies to support behaviour change and improve overall health and wellbeing.
You’ll learn through a blend of online learning activities, engaging video lectures, and guided textbook reading.
The course is structured into the following 13 units:
To successfully complete the Health and Wellbeing Coach training course, you’ll be assessed through a combination of knowledge checks, reflective work, and practical application. These assessments are designed to help you consolidate your learning, reflect on your development, and demonstrate your coaching competence.
At the end of each unit, you’ll complete an online workbook that assesses your understanding and application of the key concepts covered. A 100% pass mark is required, but you can retake each workbook as many times as needed to achieve this.
Throughout the course, you’ll maintain a reflective journal to capture your thoughts, insights, and learning from a variety of guided study tasks and practical activities. This journal is a vital part of your development, encouraging you to think critically about your progress and personal growth as a coach. You’ll submit your completed journal at the end of the course for formal assessment.
To demonstrate your ability to apply your coaching skills in a real-world context, you’ll complete a recorded practical coaching session. This final assessment will showcase your use of core techniques in a live scenario. Your recorded session will be submitted via our online platform and reviewed by an assessor.

After completing your training, you’ll begin by refining your skills through reflective practice.
