Course overview: Level 3 sports massage

Discover proven and effective massage therapy skills and techniques and learn how to treat injuries, promote recovery and improve performance with our Level Diploma in Sports Massage course.

The role of a sports massage therapist is an all-encompassing one and can be as much about preventing injuries as it is about treating them. Aside from being hands on with the therapy, you’ll need to screen and assess clients, aid recovery and support clients with the emotional side of injury and pain.

Sports massage isn’t solely reserved for elite athletes and sportspeople, although it can be incredibly effective for these groups. The massage techniques taught on this course can be adapted for everyone, from occasional gym goers to office workers.

Whether you want to work in a health club, physiotherapy clinic, spa, cruise ship, or at sporting events, you’ll have no shortage of opportunities once you are qualified. Many of our graduates have also gone on to start their own massage businesses, opening their own clinics, working from home, and even treating clients in their own home on a mobile basis. You really can take this qualification anywhere.

Currently, we deliver in London, Manchester, Birmingham and Cardiff, with more venues across the UK to be announced very soon.

  • Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements or prerequisites for this sports massage course. However, we do recommend that prior to attending the practical part of the course you try a few massage treatments as a client so that you develop a greater appreciation for the practice and the role.

  • Accreditations

This Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy is certificated by YMCA Awards and is fully endorsed by the Sports Therapy Association (STA).

  • World-class learning materials

Our learning resources are specifically designed and developed by experts to help you to become the best sports massage therapist you can be. • Career progression

Our level 4 sports massage course is the perfect follow-on from this course for those who wish to specialise further.
