Intro

Step aerobics/step exercise to music is an exciting variation of general aerobic exercise and it continues to be one of the more popular forms of studio-based exercise. Our Level 2 Step Exercise to Music course is an essential addition to any exercise professionals’ repertoire, particularly group exercise instructors. Similarly, if you’ve been informally teaching step classes for years and need to gain the appropriate qualifications to do so, this fully-accredited qualification is the ideal fit.

The qualification is certificated by YMCA Awards (formerly CYQ) and we deliver it via a blend of home study and practical workshop attendance. To ensure you succeed, we provide you with a range of learning materials, including training manuals, comprehensive e-learning materials, and extensive support from our experienced tutors.

On the course itself, you’ll learn a wide-range of choreography that are pitched at varying levels of difficulty, engaging methods of planning and teaching step classes, and important anatomy and physiology considerations.

HFE have been brilliant. The learning materials were spot on, both online and on paper. A tutor was readily available over the phone to assist with any help needed. The practical and exam weekends was where I got the most out of my experience. The tutors who led the sessions were fantastic and explained things in a way that made them easy to understand. I would recommend HFE to anyone looking to enter or progress in the fitness industry.

The online assessments were useful although it would be made life easier if, when getting an answer wrong, it gave you the correct page of your manual to refer to! Towards the last few weeks of studying I contacted my course tutor, Dani, several times with queries, mainly to ensure I was understanding everything properly!
